Fix blurry old photos and faces
AI face restoration rebuilds eyes, skin and hair in soft, out-of-focus or low-resolution photos and sharpens the rest of the picture.

How to fix blurry old photos and faces
- Scan the print or take a straight, well-lit phone picture of it (no flash, avoid glare).
- Drop the photo into the box above and pick what to fix.
- Wait 10–60 seconds while the AI restores it.
- Drag the slider to compare, then download the restored photo.
Why old photos look blurry
Old cameras, small prints and low-resolution scans all lose fine detail. Faces suffer most because we notice every missing eyelash. The AI was trained on thousands of faces and restores those details while enlarging the photo.
Limits worth knowing
- Motion blur from a moving camera is harder to fix than soft focus.
- Very tiny faces (a few pixels wide in a group photo) may look slightly smoothed.
- Start from the original print rather than a copy of a copy whenever possible.
Frequently asked questions
Can AI really unblur a photo?
It can sharpen soft and low-resolution photos very convincingly, especially faces. It cannot recover text or details that are completely gone.
What resolution will I get?
The free plan doubles the size up to 2560 px. Credits and Pro enlarge 4× up to 4800 px, enough for a sharp 8×10 inch print.
